Good luck!
The Sheffield Mobile Movie team.
Sheffield Mobile Movie is a competition that is the result of a collaboration between Red Tape Central, The Showroom Cinema and the Children's University.
The idea behind the competition was to encourage the young people of Sheffield to make short, to the point mini-documentaries on a mobile phone with the focus firmly on content rather than on technical ability or visual quality.
The Sheffield Mobile Movie winner will have their work showcased at a special screening at The Showroom Cinema, where they'll rub shoulders with family, friends and industry professionals. They will also receive a prize of £100 in gift vouchers for a store of their choice.
If you would like to know more please contact us.
Well, If you can take video footage on your mobile phone and have access to a simple editing program such as Windows Movie Maker, you can enter SMM.
All we ask is that you are aged between 14 and 19 and that you are currently living in Sheffield.
We've broken down the process needed to make your documentary into three really easy to understand stages. Click on the orange titles below to find out more:

Now, the next question is...
All you have to do is make a documentary style movie on your mobile phone that is no less than 1 minute and no more than 2 minutes in length.
Follow the guidelines we have set out for you (INSPIRE, EXPLORE, CREATE) to make your mobile movie then edit your footage using any program that you have or can use e.g. Windows Movie Maker or your favourite app). This will ensure your Mobile Movie is as impressive and powerful as it can be! Remember, you are trying to share something (good or bad!) that you feel strongly about with people that don't know you, so try to stay focused on the important bits!
Then all you have to do is register with Sheffield Mobile Movie and upload your work (see opposite for instructions). You can upload as many videos as you like but try to focus on quality, not quantity!
If you need further guidance then why not contact us, we look forward to hearing from you!
